Corinth Museum
The Corinthian museum is small and it’s holdings, while interesting, are not as rich as other museums you will visit on your tour of Greece. 284 vases and other artifacts were stolen by night from this museum in 1990 and recovered eight years later in a warehouse in Miami! They were returned to the museum for display in 2001.
- Historical Focus:
- Most of the artifacts in the museum date from the time of Roman Corinththe first century B.C. and A.D. when the city was rebuilt by Caesar and made a Roman colony. However, there is an interesting collection of pottery from a much older period.
