Olympia site
Birthplace of the Olympics and site of the all-Greece games every four years. Remote from the major city-states of Greece, this site never-the-less became an important center for athletics, art, and religion. The monumental statue of Zeus (by Pheidias-now lost) was one of the wonders of the ancient world.
